Hello, My name is Davis Forge.

I am a VFX artist, specializing in compositing, using Nuke to seamlessly integrate digital elements into live-action footage. My work is driven by a passion for creating visually compelling, immersive experiences that blend the real and the imagined. The art of compositing, for me, is not just about visual perfection but about enhancing storytelling—making sure every element feels as though it belongs in the world we’re creating. I have been studying animation and visual effects for 9 years. In the past 4 years I have had the privilege to lead and work on over 20 films ranging from student shorts to feature films, experiencing the success of 5 of those films showing at various film festivals.

In addition to my expertise in Nuke, I’ve expanded my skill set to include Unreal Engine, which allows me to push the boundaries of real-time visual effects and virtual production. Unreal provides a dynamic and flexible environment for creating stunning visuals that evolve in real time, offering an exciting fusion of traditional compositing and cutting-edge technology. This combination allows fluid work across different stages of production, from pre-visualization to final compositing. Ensuring that every shot meets the highest standards of visual fidelity and narrative impact.

My process involves a deep understanding of light, texture, and space—whether I’m integrating practical footage with computer-generated elements in Nuke or using Unreal Engine to create entire environments and worlds. By leveraging both tools, I’m able to bring a unique versatility to the table, translating complex creative concepts into polished, cinematic visuals that capture the essence of the story.

With every project, I’m motivated by the challenge of solving visual problems and delivering shots that elevate the audience’s experience. I see each frame as a canvas, and with the power of Nuke and Unreal Engine, I strive to craft images that are as seamless as they are visually striking. The intersection of traditional compositing and real-time technology excites me, and I’m always exploring new ways to push the limits of what’s possible.

When not working on a film shot, I enjoy an active lifestyle and have participated in many sports. Working Out clears my head and prepares me for the intense work of film and compositing. I truly enjoy people and their individual styles and differences. Leading by an example hard work and participating in others successes is a big part of who I am. My family and friend group are large and supportive.

I have supplemented my income through school as a Certified Personal Trainer encouraging others to reach their personal goals. Recently, I have also been landscaping and enjoying this hands on art form. And just like painting for a painter, it puts me at peace.
